GO BULLDOGS!!

According to Mr. Sean L. Arnold (pictured above)...The Original 1975 Mt Airy Bulldogs JV Super Bowl Champs. Head Coach John Leeland (Rear Center), Defensive Coach Harry Arnold (Rear left, my father). I’m in the second row, 3rd from the left # 78 Offensive Center (gritting my teeth (ha ha). Charlie Dorisey #23 Row 3, John Fetzer #86 Row 1 2nd from the left, Willie Wagner QB row 1, 7th from the left, right behind the cheerleaders. I cant remember all the names.  We were a rough group and most had never played football before. Some of us had started when the team began in 1974 and then we ended up undefeated in our second year.

Great Job by four of our Bulldogs Varsity players who were selected to play in the Football University Maryland All-State 8th Grade Game hosted by Mount St. Joseph High School in Baltimore representing Mt. Airy Bulldogs (the only local program with participants in this invitation only game).  They also participated in the Inaugural Chesapeake Bowl! This Maryland 8th Grade All-Star game was be played at Johnny Unitas Stadium,Towson State University on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Proudly representing Mt. Airy on "Team Potomac" were Brandon Batts (WR), Stephen Weakley (OT), Anthony Barzey (DL/OL) and Donovan Pannell (QB)!  As starters, they displayed the excellent skills, team leadership and sportsmanship the Bulldogs are known for.  Check out the game at www.chesapeakebowl.com
