Reminder to our Veteran parents and an FYI to our new parents, by request of the Mt. Airy Volunteer Firemen (from whom we rent the MAYAA fields) there is NO SMOKING at the MAYAA fields inside of the main gate separating the fields from the parking lot. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the appropriate containers.
Also:
· No pets are allowed.
No tobacco or alcoholic beverages at our fields.
· Parking is in the parking lot only. Not along the white fence/pony ring and definitely not in the paved lot by the Fireman's Carnival Grounds/Activities building. The only vehicles permitted to park inside the gate during practices are the coaches and folks who transport football equipment and concessions supplies.
· Purchase of a parking spot inside the gate, is only for REGULAR SEASON HOME GAMES, not for practices. If you wish to purchase a space next year, contact Kevin Evans at fields@mtairyfootball.org to be added to the waiting list.
· Parking is never allowed past the concession stand!
· Please do not pull up to the red gates and let you child out of the car there. Please park in the lot first. If you pull up to the gate, this creates a line of cars, creating an unsafe environment for those walking from the lot and coaches and folks bringing equipment cannot get in.
· There are no bleachers, so please bring chairs, blankets, etc. to sit on. There is a nice sloping hill to see the field from.
· It is all of our responsibility to take care of these facilities, so please place trash in the garbage cans provided and do what you can to leave the fields better than when we arrived.
Please be courteous and mindful of the safety of our children when driving in the parking lot.
During home games, there is an entrance fee for all spectators. Only football players, cheerleaders and coaches are excepted from paying this fee. If you wish to leave the fields and return for a later game, please remember to ask for a hand stamp!
There are home and visitor designated areas. Please be mindful that this is a youth sports event - your respectful behavior is appreciated.
No tailgating! Please support the concession stand as this is a major fundraiser for the program.
Parents are reminded that MAYAA Football is a volunteer & family run organization - there are many ways parents and community supporters can assist in continuing our traditions of excellence. If you have a talent to share, please feel free to help out on one of the football subcommittees. We take great pride in maintaining wonderful playing fields, top of the line equipment for our children, and fun team building activities. To that end, all Football parents are required to help the program by performing concession stand and trash collection duties at home games. Cheerleader parents are tasked with manning the gate during all home games. Sign-up sheets are circulated by the Team Parent during the pre-season. Your support is greatly appreciated!
